I had such a blast taking part in last year’s annual Photomarathon that I figured I’d have another go… with rather unexpected results!
Each year, photographers gather together in Cardiff to photograph 12 topics. You receive these topics throughout the day, starting with the first 4 at 10am. For 2015 the topics were:

- Twist and Turn
- The Perfect Place
- The Other Side
- Epic
- Can’t Live Without You
- Word Search
- Optical Illusion
- Equal
- Under Cover
- Eureka!
Given that there were around 400 entrants to this year’s event, I was gobsmacked to find out that I had won the topic for Optical Illusion! For this photo I grabbed my friend from the pub, asked her to hold a can of body spray in the air while I tried to find the perfect shaped cloud to illustrate the spray from the can. The clouds were very much on my side that day and the photo came out perfectly!
